	Description	Bangalore International School (BIS) is Bangalore’s first and oldest international school imparting world class education for the last four decades. Since its inception in 1969, it has remained a wholly parent owned body. The Board of Trustees comprises of five parents of students currently enrolled in the school. BIS is managed and run by the Head of the School and the staff body. Parents play a key role in the governance and policy decision of the school. BIS teaching staff are well qualified and highly experienced in IGCSE curriculum which is reflected in the fact that the school has produced cent percent results in IGCSE exam, GCE Advanced and Advanced Subsidiary and IB level exams. The students come from all over world. More than half of the student body is from India and rest come from Iran, Thailand, Korea, USA, UK, Canada, Japan, Mauritius and Maladives. BIS is one of those few schools in the country that practice a system of inclusive education. Differently able children are welcome in BIS. BIS teaching staff are well qualified and highly experienced in IGCSE curriculum which is reflected in the fact that the school has produced cent percent results in IGCSE exam, GCE Advanced and Advanced Subsidiary and IB level exams. Rules/Information

Admission Policy

Pre-Primary to Grade 7:
The school follows a Rolling Admission Policy by which students can apply for admission throughout the year.

Procedure:
1. Fill up the Admission Forms and submit online. You can submit the forms in person at the school too.
2. Head of the school will meet with the parents and the candidate. Please carry all requested documents for this meeting.
3. Candidates will undergo tests in the areas of Math, Science and English for Elementary and the Middle Years.
4. Candidate will meet with the Section coordinator and the class teacher.
5. Candidate will be given admission based on performance and previous schools records.

Grade 8 to Grade 12 and IB:
Admissions will be considered only at the beginning of the School Year. The school follows the Checkpoint, IGCSE Programme and IB Programme and Subject choices have to be made at the end of Grade 8 and Grade 10 respectively.

3. Candidates will undergo tests in the areas of Math and English and in the subjects of the choice for Grades 9 and 11.
4. Candidate will meet with the Section coordinator and the class teacher.
5. Candidate will be given admission based on performance and previous schools records.

Note:
1. The School will have the final decision in the Candidate’s admission and placement.
2. Applications are processed on a first come first serve basis.
3. Class size is maintained at 20 students per class.

Transport The majority of students are day scholars who live in various parts of the city. The school has a fleet of buses to pick up and drop these students from and at every corner of the city. The timetable has been planned in such a way that buses can avoid rush hour traffic. Drivers are trained and constantly monitored to ensure that travel is safe. Each bus has staff members to make sure that students board and alight from the bus safely.
